Two high-ranking members of the Student Assembly have received recommendations to be recalled over a series of ethical violations.
Student Assembly elections will be moved back one week due to an ongoing ethics investigation into several members prompted by leaked text messages.
I condemn in the strongest terms Rocco DeLorenzo’s positions on gender issues that impact our campus community.
At the event, Mitrano mentioned that she wanted to run for public office after the 2016 presidential election, when she realized that this region needs a new voice.
“That’s actually a great gift,” Santorum said of being a conservative student on a liberal campus. “Because you get to hone your skills and hear the best arguments from a lot of smart people who have different points of view than you.”
“A lot of what we do is coalition building, and that is a great way to build a larger alliance,” Moris said. “Tonight is one of the very first steps in building a larger progressive machine.”
“This year’s election has been unprecedented in so many ways,” Corn said. “The damage done to the Republican party may be irreversible, at least in the near future.”
In some ways, the Cornell Republicans have been examples of this movement: the group broke party lines to endorse Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson over the Republican nominee on Sep. 4. Almost immediately after this decision, the New York Federation of College Republicans revoked the chapter’s credentials, chastising the organization for supporting another party’s candidate.
“The race remains competitive,” he said. “But after Monday night, I’m increasingly confident that we’re headed for a Clinton victory in November.”
This year’s remembrance will include three more events than in previous years, when the clubs only hosted a fundraising event for Ithaca Veterans of Foreign Wars.
