Cornell University temporarily revoked all chaplain privileges for Reverend Carsten Martensen following an allegation against him of sexual abuse of a minor. Martensen has worked in campus ministries for Cornell University and Ithaca College since 2007, and served as chaplain at both institutions.
While the official reception, originally planned on Friday, was postponed due to internal reasons, Ahmed’s appointment was deemed long overdue and welcomed by leaders in other religious communities.
