In the third period, it looked as if the Red was in some trouble when the Crimson went on a 4-on-3 power play. But Cornell’s penalty kill led a deadly attack that culminated in a Zandee-Hart shorthanded goal.
No. 4 women’s hockey put another unbeaten weekend in the books at Lynah against ECAC foes St. Lawrence and Clarkson. On Saturday, the Red squared off against St. Lawrence and came out on top, 3-2.
O’Neill was not the only Cornellian to make history Saturday night, as Browning, with her 14 saves on the night, moved into fifth place on Cornell’s all-time shutout list with nine.
The Red had a successful break, picking up three ECAC wins and preserving its unbeaten streak.
Despite playing on the road against two tough conference foes, the Red outscored its opponents, 9-2, over the weekend.
Cornell hockey took home half of the ECAC’s monthly accolades for November, winning Goaltender of the Month for both the men’s and women’s categories in addition to men’s Rookie of the Month.
Cornell is hoping to achieve its second sweep of the season against these two teams after earning a 1-0 win against Quinnipiac and a 3-1 win over Princeton at Lynah Rink in the first weekend of November.
After suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Buckeyes, the Red rebounded the next day, earning a 5-1 win.
Senior defenseman Jamie Bourbonnais notched four points in the win.
