After a strong start to the individual events portion of the schedule, the women’s tennis team looks to get back on track this weekend in Flushing, N.Y., at the BJK College Invitational. The Red was dominant in sweeping the major awards at the early season Cornell Fall Invitational; however that success did not follow the team to the Army Invitational two weeks ago.

The Red, behind head coach David Geatz, travel to this weekend’s invitational with the mindset that each member of the team will focus on a specific part of their game that needs improvement.

Junior Leah Seyburn stressed the importance of each individual player being able to correct the mistakes that plagued the team at Army.

Tomorrow the men’s tennis team will travel to New Haven, Conn., to play in this year’s Yale Invitational. While the Red has yet to play in a team event, it has taken full advantage of this long string of individual events to prepare for what will be a difficult road ahead this spring. After putting together a strong season last year, junior co-captain Jeremy Feldman recognizes that nothing will be handed to him and his teammates this season.

“Just because we had a good season last year, doesn’t mean we’re entitled to have a good season this year,” Feldman said.

When asked about his goals for the Invitational, Feldman took the emphasis off of himself saying, “The team’s No. 1 goal is to win the Ivy League title, and make the NCAA tournament.”

First off, hello there, my name is Rahul Kishore, and you’ve probably never heard of me before. They even give you a mugshot of me so you can find me on your daily walk through campus and either give me a high five or wring my neck. Talk about accountability.

For the large majority of you, you’ve never met me and you probably never will. I’m a lowly sophomore in “the College” and generally I’ve become a slave of this paper and other student organizations. But for the few moments of the day I’m not being proverbially “pwned” by Cornell, I get around to watching, but rarely playing, sports.
