Cornell Night Showcases Student Talent

A week of free ice cream and information sessions culminated yesterday with Cornell Night, an annual evening of student musical and theatrical performances at Bailey Hall.

The event served a dual purpose: along with entertaining the Class of 2004 and its Orientation Counselors before classes commence, it allowed performing groups to announce upcoming auditions.

The earlier show, at 5:30 p.m., was for new students living in Clara Dickson Hall and on West Campus; the 8:30 p.m. show was for the rest of North Campus. Both shows were kicked off by the Big Red Marching Band, followed by Dean of Students John L. Ford’s short and sweet introduction: “Welcome to Cornell!”
