The Cornell women’s ice hockey team will be finishing up its regular season this weekend taking on Ivy League foes Princeton (12-12-3 overall, 7-12-3 ECAC) and Yale (3-21-2 , 2-19-1 ECAC). Currently ranked 11th in the ECAC, the Red looks to have lost its chance at postseason play.
This weekend, however, should feature two exciting games. Earlier this season, Cornell defeated Yale by a score of 3-1 while it dropped a 3-1 decision to Princeton. Currently, the Bulldogs are ranked 12th and Princeton stands at 10th, just four points ahead of the Red.
This weekend will be a memorable one for the team, especially for the seniors as they skate at Lynah one last time. Seniors on the team include co-captains Danielle Bilodeau and Patricia Kemp and Erica Olson. Having completed a memorable four years at the Red, their presence will be significantly missed next season. Bilodeau and Olson both presented the Red offense with much goal power while Kemp was a force in the back, using her Canadian national experience to anchor a young group that will return next year and try to vie for a playoff position.
