Men's Hockey Ends Season With ECAC Title

PRINCETON, N.J. — A banner hanging in Princeton’s Hobey Baker Rink urges the Tigers to “Make Hobey Proud!” However, the action on the ice at Baker Rink on Friday night would have been more likely to offend the hockey legend whose name graces the arena.

Cornell (23-4-1, 18-2-1 ECAC) and Princeton (3-24-1, 2-18-1) played sloppy hockey throughout the game, as the Red won, 2-1, despite being outshot for only the sixth time this season.

The win sealed the top spot in the ECAC regular season standings for Cornell, giving the Red the first seed in the conference playoffs as well as the Cleary Cup for the second straight season.

“We obviously wanted to come here tonight and lock that up, and we were able to do it, maybe not in quite the fashion we wanted to, but we were able to come out with a win, and that’s all that matters,” said senior co-captain Stephen B
