Pete Yorn: An Album Not to Forget

I usually don’t adorn artists with excessive amounts of praise, mostly because I don’t think many of them are quite deserving of it. But I cannot say enough about how wonderful this CD is or Pete Yorn’s music in general. Yorn got his start shortly after moving to L.A. in 2000 when the former drummer landed a record deal when he performed the song, “Life on a Chain,” for a Columbia executive on the spot — though his brother’s connections with the label might have helped a bit. His impressive debut, Musicforthemorningafter, soon followed in spring 2001. Day I Forgot, is the singer-songwriter’s latest, and an affirmation of Yorn’s exceptional talent and versatility.
