Valentine’s Day. For many, whether attached or unattached, the “day of love” produces a wave of anxiety. Valentine’s Day never seems to be able to please. Just ask Barbie and Ken (yes, the dolls), who, Mattel announced last week, “broke up.”

But back to the task at hand. The reason I bring this up, is not, as it would seem, to make you relieve your past hearbreaks. It’s to shed some light on the goods of coupling. So, for those of you who are still feelin’ the love: a look at these his-and-hers fashions.

Mini-Pod

The i-Pod is the ultimate accessory. Not only does it allow one to tune out the outside world with the soundtrack of choice, but the brightly colored commercials are just so cool! The latest in the family of i-Pods is the minipod. Its smaller than the original, storing only 1000 songs, and you can choose colors.

Polo-Tees

There is a right way and a wrong way to wear a polo shirt, as The Official Preppy Handbook tells us. Collar up is the only way for many, but I’m not here to judge. Lucky for women everywhere, Polo recently created the “slim-fit” polo. And, with the beauty of the internet, every preppy polo lover can create their own combination of colors on the company’s website. Make sure to layer them up over long-sleeves though — tee shirts are not ideal for Ithaca’s chilly weather.

Cargo Pants

Camouflage cargo pants are not just for angry militants anymore. Cargo pants are great for girls and guys. They are comfortable, and they have tons of pockets. However, they were not created by Tommy Hilfiger after being inspired by “workers … who need the pockets for dirt,” as Alli Hillfiger proclaimed on the MTV fall show Rich Girls.

Track Jackets

And for those who are still not convinced that unisex is in. You don’t have to be an athlete to sport the track jacket these days. Brightly colored track jackets are everywhere. Indeed, those of the hipster-persuasion have caught on, and you should too.

Wrist Bands

You may think all wrist bands are the same, but they’re not. They can go from punk to athletic, to hipster-cool. For serious.

Nike Dunks

And last but not least. For those who are old-school enough, the Nike-Dunk sneaker is the ultimate in footwear. These sneaks are from back in the day, so I hear.
