With a little help from Brown, the the Cornell volleyball team’s fairy tale season is back on track. Yale fell to Brown, 3-2, last night at the Pizzitola Center in Providence, R.I. The loss gives the Red (19-5, 12-2 Ivy) a one-game advantage over the Bulldogs (20-3, 11-3) in the final standings and sole possession of the 2005 Ivy League championship. Brown (12-13, 9-5) ends the season in third place.

Cornell also earns the conference’s bid to the NCAA tournament, which will begin the first weekend in December.

The Red will travel to one of 16 undetermined campus sites to face its first round opponent – a matchup that will be set on November 27 by the NCAA selection committee.

The last time Cornell competed in the NCAA tournament was 1993, when it was swept in the first round by Nebraska.
