Library Tax Fails

Print More

According to unofficial results, voters in the Ithaca City School District rejected the controversial Library Tax yesterday.

The unofficial vote count was 3,091-1,679, with a 17-percent voter turnout.

Some of the money raised by the tax would have gone to pay for new books, but most of it would have gone toward keeping the Tompkins County Library open on Sundays.
