An accident occurred Sunday night on Stewart Avenue between Stephen Bakke ’07 and Brittany Kelly, an 18-year-old student at SUNY-Binghamton. Kelly attempted to make a left turn into the loading dock area behind Noyes Community Center from the southbound traffic lane and collided with Bakke, who was driving a motorcycle northbound. Bakke, a Tuscan, Ariz. native and member of the men’s cross-country and track and field teams, was thrown into the air and suffered serious external and internal injuries; he was airlifted to Arnot-Ogden Memorial Hospital in Elmira and underwent surgery. The hospital had no further update on his condition.
