Don’t like the new look… EE Cummings already used the lower case construction to great effect; it’s been done there and really doesn’t fit into journalism, IMHO…
The old masthead has tremendous historical significance as a symbol and should’t have been pushed into a slanted murky background (in favor of a san serif tag) like some thought that can no longer be recognized as either a dream or a true recollection.
Also, I know it’s the beginning of the school year but there’s not one dateline 8/22/06 story on today’s splash page (it’s 8/22/06 today…).
I assume the paper was actually published today, right? We’re not all in Ithaca any longer…
