Ithaca Fire Department succesfully put out a car fire around 9:30 p.m. Saturday with the assistance of local police forces.
Much of several blocks of Collegetown were closed down as firefighters fought the blaze, which started after what several bystanders described as a sudden explosion.
No details were immediately available as to injuries related to the fire.
