During the Annual Spring Game, the defense dominated the offense in a 41-20 win. With the Red returning 10 defensive players who saw time as starters, it will be up to junior Nathan Ford to make sure the offense stays on the pace with defense.
In his first year as a starter, Ford displayed his ability to throw the ball and run as well. Last year, Ford compiled 1,417 passing yards and 345 on the ground. As a matter of fact, six of his 14 combined touchdowns came on the ground.
The junior’s best game came against No. 18 Harvard where he threw for a career-best 309 yards and scored four touchdowns — two rushing, two passsing.
Ford did miss much of spring practice while playing for the baseball team — where he earned second team All-Ivy honors. Despite his brief departure, Ford is expected to lead the Red at the quarterback position.
The team was picked to finish at No. 5 in the Ivy League rankings.
