Cornell to Test Emergency Alert System Today at Noon

Print More

Cornell plans to test its new emergency alert system by sending voice messages, text messages and e-mails around noon today, according to a University release. The messages will be sent to people who have supplied emergency contact information to Cornell.
People who have provided both text and voice numbers — about 85 percent of those who provided information — will only receive texts.
Those who have not provided information yet can do so at whoiam.cornell.edu.
The message will be “This is a test of the Cornell Emergency Notification system. This is only a test.”
Voice calls will have the caller ID 607-254-4636, while texts will have the caller ID 55629. The mass e-mails will have the sender address [email protected].
