Equestrian Takes Second at Cornell Invitational

The equestrian team successfully defended its home turf, taking second out of 12 teams in the Cornell Invitatational last weekend. Out of a possible 49 points, Cornell riders scored 44 and were edged out by powerhouse Skidmore (who scored 45 points) on the last day of competition.
Colgate finished in third with 40 points and Hartwick rounded out the top-4 with 36 points.
Junior Dana Kendrick won her fences class and was third in her flat class, lifting her to the top of the leader board for the Regional High Point Rider (Cacchione Cup). Classmate Caroline Shulman was also third in her fences and won her flat, bringing her to No. 2 in the hunt for the cup.
Senior tri-captain Christine Garvey, junior Marie Ceranowicz and sophomore Zoe Samuel all qualified for the Regional championships with exceptional performances in their respective divisions.
