Men's Lacrosse Faces Navy For First Time in Three Years

The last time the men’s lacrosse team was on the field, it was reeling from a last-second goal by Duke’s Zac Greer that kept the Red from having a shot in the National championship game.
Much of the core of that team — Eric Pittard ’07 and David Mitchell ’07 on offense, Mitch Belisle ’07 on defense and Matt McMonagle ’07 in goal — is gone.
Still, the team enters this season ranked No. 6 in the country, and will have its ranking tested right out of the gate against No. 12 Navy tomorrow on Long Island.[img_assist|nid=28083|title=Another shot|desc=Junior Max Seibald, recently named to the Tewarraton Trophy Watch List, will help the Red open the season against Navy tomorrow.|link=node|align=left|width=|height=0]
Unlike the Red, the Midshipmen return five of their All-Patriot League selections from last year. Four of those, Jordan DiNola and Geoff Leone on defense and Basil Daratsos and Nick Mirabito on offense, are preseason All-American picks. The Red also boasts four pre-season All-American picks, three of whom made the Tewaaraton Watch List.
