Student Assembly election results were approved yesterday and will be posted online today. Among the surprises this year was the disqualification of four candidates, according to Mark Coombs ’08, S.A. director of elections. A.J. Femminello, candidate for the Industrial and Labor Relations seat; Steve Matthews, Agriculture and Life Sciences candidate; Haley Bergman, who ran for the Art, Architecture and Planning seat; and Arjun Natarajan, a candidate for the minority-at-large seat, were all disqualified because they did not turn in their documentation of campaign expenses by the given date. According to Coombs, this resulted in their automatic disqualifications.
The AAP seat and one of two CALS seats will not be filled because of these disqualifications. The Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, Transexual and Questioning seat had no candidates and will also go unfilled. Special elections for these positions will be held in the fall.
The results of the contested seats, along with the results of voter turnout will go online today.
