President Skorton, Dyson ’74, Milstein ’73 Appointed to Governor-Elect Cuomo’s Economic Committee

Cornell President David Skorton, Rob Dyson MBA ’74 and Howard Milstein ’73 were appointed on Friday to the Economic Development and Labor Committee of Governor-Elect Andrew Cuomo’s transition team. The committee will guide the incoming state government in recruiting staff to lead job creation and the state’s economic revitalization.The 32-member committee will be in charge of selecting new leaders for the state agencies responsible of creating new jobs and expanding the state’s economy. According to The New York Times, Cuomo considers this search as “his most critical test in the weeks ahead.”Along with Skorton, Milstein and Dyson, the committee includes all four leaders of the state legislature, Hispanic and African-American public officials, and leaders from the labor and civil rights movements.According to a University press release, the committee will hold its first meeting this week.
