Eclecticism and honesty dominate the work of Contrapunkt!, Cornell’s undergraduate music composition club, and it’s no wonder. As composer Paul Hwang ’15 explains, “everything’s cool in its own way. It does what it wants to do.” Inspired by the synesthetic artist Wassily Kandinsky, the composers’ startling musical responses to works by student artists, on display this Sunday, prove that seeing sound and hearing colors are possible.
