Cornell senior Frank Perelli and junior Kyle Dake were awarded with wildcard positions for the 2012 Olympic Team trials in men’s freestyle wrestling. The trials will take place April 21-22 in Iowa City.

Dake’s wildcard spot is another addition to his already impressive season. He won his third NCAA championship in St. Louis, Mo. on Mar. 17. He is the first Red junior ever to win titles at three different titles, and already has 100 career victories in just three seasons at Cornell.

Perelli became an All-American this season after placing fourth at the NCAA tournament. He is twelfth in the Cornell record books in victories and is 110-41 in his career.

Dake will wrestle at the 163 pounds weight class while Perelli will compete at 121 pounds. The two will be joined at the trials by Mack Lewne ’11, who qualified in Las Vegas in December.
