W. LACROSSE | Red Takes on Penn in Postseason Action

Print More

The Cornell women’s lacrosse team worked hard in the regular season to secure an Ivy League playoff spot, and now that time of year has arrived. The Red will travel to Penn to compete in the tournament and, as the No. 4 seed, it will face No. 1 seeded Penn in a semifinal match Friday night. The Red has never won an Ivy League playoff game and has lost to Penn in seven consecutive meetings, so a victory in this game would be a monumental win for the program.  Beating the Quakers and and then the winner of the Dartmouth-Princeton semifinal to take the Ivy League championship would guarantee the Red a spot in the NCAA national tournament, but even if it falls short of the Ivy League crown, it can still receive an at-large tournament bid.
