Despite being held in a smaller venue, approximately 400 individuals crowded into Willard Straight Hall Saturday for Cornell’s ninth annual Filthy/Gorgeous dance.

Known by many for its extravagance, Filthy/Gorgeous — hosted by Haven: Cornell’s LGBTQ Student Union — is the organization’s signature event to promote awareness of the LGBT community. However, this year the event underwent a variety of changes, according to Carol James, interim co-director of the LGBT Resource Center.
