Six innings into the opening contest of the softball team’s four-game set with Princeton this weekend, Red pitcher, senior Alyson Onyon, had thrown a scoreless game. But less fortunately for the Red, so had its opponent, Tigers pitcher Shanna Christian. The deadlock was the longest, scoreless stretch in any Cornell game this season, but senior infielder Christina Villalon made sure the Red found its way onto the board. Up at bat in the top of the seventh, Villalon crushed a two-run homer to right center to post the only runs of the game, handing the Red a 2-0 victory to open the weekend.
