The field hockey team split a pair during its opening weekend games, starting the season with a convincing 9-0 victory over Colgate in Hamilton before falling to Albany, 2-1, in a close competition on Marsha Dodson Field. The victory over Colgate tied the school team record for Red goals in a game, which had previously been set in 2006 against Saint Francis and again in 2008 against Bryant.
