This Homecoming weekend, the women’s soccer team had a tough Ivy League matchup against Yale on Saturday. Though the final score was a loss of 1-0, the Red out shot the Yale bulldogs.

Going into the game, the Red emphasized the importance of keeping the ball in their possession, according to freshman midfielder Meera Dheer.

“The forwards focused on possession in the midfield and the defenders worked on defending within the box,” she said.

Yale pulled away within the first five minutes, however, with a goal by freshman forward Melissa Gavin. Though the Red did maintain control over the ball for the majority of the game, it was not enough as the squad could not get past Yale goalie Elise Wilcox.
