Goodman — the son of Carolyn Drucker Goodman ’36 and Robert Goodman ’35 — Chaney and Schwerner worked for the Congress of Racial Equality to educate and register African-American voters. The three men were slain by members of the Ku Klux Klan in Philadelphia, Mississippi on June 21, 1964.
