The 13th president of Cornell, President Elizabeth Garrett previously served as provost of the University of Southern California.

President Garrett graduated the University of Oklahoma in 1985 and then went on to law school at the University of Virginia. Earlier this year, she was named UVA’s 2016 Distinguished Alumna.

When appointed to the presidency, Garrett became the first woman to serve as president of Cornell in the school’s history.

To celebrate President Garrett’s inauguration, Cornell Dairy made a brand new flavor in her honor, featuring chocolate, caramel and mocha flavors. Cornell dairy had a contest to name the flavor, and the winner was “24-Garrett Swirl.”
