The Ithaca Fire Department and police worked for an hour to extinguish a house fire at 505 West Seneca Street Friday, according to an IFD release.

Officers responded to multiple calls reporting smoke and flames and found “heavy fire” on the house’s second floor. Firefighters searched the building, checking to see if the fire had spread to other parts of the house and rerouted traffic around the area, the release said.

No injuries were reported in the incident. IFD is still investigating the fire’s cause, according to the release.
