Ithaca Police Respond to Stabbing on Eddy Street

Ithaca police responded to reports of an active dispute on the 400 block of Eddy Street at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday night, according to a Cornell crime alert.

However, when police arrived, the “large group of people” at the scene was not fighting, but beginning to disperse, the alert said. There were no victims at the scene.

Police later learned that a victim at Cayuga Medical Center was stabbed, suffering wounds to the abdomen so severe that the victim was transported by plane to a regional trauma center, according to the alert.

Police say the victim was not affiliated with Cornell and no information is currently available about the crime’s perpetrator.

Investigation of this incident is open and ongoing. The crime alert said, “If you have any information that would aid this investigation, please contact the Ithaca Police Department at 607-272-3245.”
