Reintroducing Lifestyle!

Welcome to Lifestyle, a dynamic and subjective department that soft-launched in April 2024. This section covers all things student and campus life, personal experiences, advice and the hot takes you didn’t know you needed.

Our content will be organized into six sections, each capturing a key aspect of life as a Cornellian:

1. Ithaca Reviews – From restaurant openings to events in the Commons, we’ll bring you the most authentic and honest takes. Expect detailed reviews covering pricing, must-try recommendations and how each spot stacks up against the rest.

2. Greek Life – Coverage of the evolving culture of Greek organizations on campus and student opinion regarding it.

3. Campus Life – Stories on student traditions, organizations and the shared experiences that define Cornell.

4. Academics – Insightful takes on coursework, professors, study habits and the academic pressures that come with an Ivy League education.

5. Dining & Housing Investigations – Deep dives into the ever-controversial world of Cornell’s dining halls, meal plans and on-campus housing situations.

6. Fashion & Style – A look at trends, personal style and what Cornellians are wearing.

Taking inspiration from Sex on Thursday — our popular column that explores sex from a wide range of perspectives — Lifestyle is introducing three new columns this semester:

“Dating on Wednesday” – A Sex and the City-esque column covering dating, relationships, love and everything in between, all with a Cornell twist.

“Maia on the Mic” – Written by our very own Lifestyle Editor, Maia Mehring, this column will chronicle her experiences navigating college life.

“Faded on Friday” – A column exploring all things cannabis — usage, culture and its place in Cornellians’ lives.

Stay tuned for more from Lifestyle, where we cover the real, the relevant and the ridiculous — all with a Cornellian perspective.
