A rape was reported at Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hall, a student dormitory for first-year students, on Sept. 23, according to Cornell’s Daily Crime Log. The alleged incident reportedly occurred on Sept. 19 between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m.
The case was reported to the Cornell University Police Department by “a third party,” a University spokesperson wrote to The Sun.
The individual involved in the reported act described it as consensual to a CUPD officer who conducted an interview, according to the spokesperson.
“Police interviewed the individual whom the report was made about, [and] they stated that this was an instance of consensual sex,” the spokesperson wrote.
The crime log currently lists the status of the report as “pending.”
