There is a playful intimacy to the livestreamed quarantine concerts which have recently cropped up across the internet.
How can we replicate the cathartic power of live music while practicing social distancing?
Music can seem like it’s white dominated. But it’s not.
As I looked around, it was comforting to know that we were surrounded by a big group of kids my age and wouldn’t be terrorized by die-hard deadheads claiming I was at the wrong concert or berating me for wearing a Phish shirt.
Thank goodness Dylan was able to keep the crowd focused. If it were any other artist, I would’ve walked out of the venue instantly.
Unlike with a lot of EDM, they didn’t need to count down to drops or verbally signal where the songs were going. They let the music speak for itself, and it paid off.

Amidst the fun and dancing, the band also took a solemn moment during the performance to honor the recent passing of the Grateful Dead member Robert Hunter.
The Homecoming 2019 concert was a blast due to Daya’s and Saint Motel’s fervent performances.
