For the spring 2021 semester, Cornell students will be able to drop any class by May 14, the last day of instruction, without receiving a “Withdrawn” on their transcript.
Several dates in the academic calendar have been moved around to accommodate virtual classes and social distancing guidelines.
Less than a week after Cornell unexpectedly cancelled all instruction until April 6, the University has finished ironing out details for how the academic calendar will be structured following spring break.
Provost Michael Kotlikoff announced that the modified calendar proposed by the Academic Calendar Committee has been approved.
“Our current calendar is a very radical calendar,” Dean of Faculty Charles van Loan said. “For example, if you look at how much other universities devote to new student orientation, we are at the very bottom.”
