After a campus closure due to a snow storm impacting the Ithaca region, students spend their snow day outdoors and in their dorms.
With campus COVID cases surpassing 300 as of Thursday, President Martha Pollack sent an email to the Cornell community to discuss potential outcomes for the fall semester and to remind Cornellians to remain vigilant about staying healthy.
One question that schools must answer while considering their course of action is what the extent of the risk is facing campus. Two Cornell professors, Ben Cornwell and Kim Weeden, sociology, are aiming to quantify how connected individuals on campus are to provide insight on how a virus could spread should classes resume normally in the fall.
Classes and exams have been canceled while the University is closed. However, evening classes are set to remain in session, according to the announcement.
