Zubrow Distinguished Visiting Journalist Andrew Morse ’96 visited campus Tuesday for an Inside Journalism event, where he reflected on his career as a journalist, discussed technology’s role in modern journalism and offered advice to those looking to enter the industry.
“Given I had never worked for a really large company, I had the image of these large firms as really well-oiled machines where everything was operating smoothly. It was reassuring and almost calming to see that there are mistakes along the way and no one’s perfect.”
“The crux of interviewing is that people want to find out if they can sit next to you at 11pm and not hate themselves. If you pass that test, you have a very good shot at getting a role in finance,” Bobby Ma ’20
For the full-time trainee program, an important part of the experience is making people try different job functions as a way of getting out of their comfort zone.
