After years as a professor at Michigan State University, Jinhua Zhao will come to Cornell as dean of the Dyson school, continuing his research into climate change and resource economics.
Women who don’t feel comfortable participating in these activities may miss out on promotions and client relationships, exacerbating the problem of investment management being thought of as a “boys club” that women have to fight to be included in.
Applied economics and management Profs. Scott Yonker, Byoung-Hyoun Hwang and Rich Curtis shared their top tips for money management during these uncertain times.
“Mask-wearing can be framed by some people as a means to protect themselves, their loved ones and their communities from this disease, while other people frame mask-wearing as an infringement on their rights and an unnecessary response to the risk,” Schulze said.
“I knew I was smart, and I knew I could work hard. So why wasn’t it working for me?”
President Martha E. Pollack and Lynn Perry Wooten, dean of the Dyson school, were among the 314 people who participated in the photo campaign.
At the end of the summit, all participating organizations will be asked to sign a pledge committing to supporting gender diversity, according to Forté member Kamakhya Misra ’20.
“The purpose of the Dyson Students of Color Coalition was to empower students and get the message out there that we support and accept diversity,” said Michelle Reiss ’20, a founding member of the Coalition.
Dejah Powell ’18 received $5,000 in funding last spring, which will allow her to improve a school garden in Chicago.
Jennifer Majka, assistant dean of Alice Cook House, recently announced her departure from the West Campus community to pursue her “passion for diversity and inclusion work in higher education” with a joint appointment as the founding Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management and the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business.
