Omar Din ’19 became the first Muslim, South Asian and youngest person at 22 years old to be elected to city council of his hometown in Sunnyvale, California.
The Common Council discussed 5G installation, the budget deficit and Newman Golf Course during Friday’s meeting.
On June 18, Quinton Lucas J.D. ’09 was elected mayor of Kansas City, Missouri. Lucas, 34, ran on a platform focused on expanding affordable housing, improving healthcare in the community, and criminal justice reform. During his run for mayor, Lucas was endorsed by the local police department, fire department and teachers’ union.
Flooding toilets. Kitchens that don’t work. Ithaca’s housing market, notorious for horror stories of terrible conditions at astronomical prices, has long been a headache for Cornellians and Ithaca residents alike. Soon, the laws policing unsound housing will get sharper teeth.
But a Cornell spokesperson, John Carberry, told The Sun that there are no records of Langley graduating from the University.
