Another member of the Cornell community claims to be the culprit who put the pumpkin on the spire of McGraw Tower with photographic evidence verified by The Sun, after two students previously claimed responsibility for the prank on social media.
The pumpkin placed on top of McGraw Tower on Friday, Oct. 20 paid homage to a 1997 prank where a pumpkin sat on top of the clocktower for 158 days.
Now, 22 years later, as an homage to this piece of Cornell lore, the Cornell Dairy Bar has brought back their seasonal fall flavor: Clocktower Pumpkin; a pumpkin-based ice cream with cinnamon and nutmeg seasoning. It’s like pumpkin pie without the crust. Available at the Dairy Bar, it’s the bright orange flavor; you can’t miss it.
