On Feb. 20, students looking to join new student clubs and organizations participated in ClubFest at Barton Hall.
About two years ago, a Sun columnist shared their thoughts about Cornell Clubfest and included some well thought out ideas of how to fix the way that we go about our clubfest. They correctly pointed out that clubs are meant to foster your passions and interests outside of academic pursuits, and thus should allow for more room for the student to meet the club and for the club to meet the student.
After a year of mostly virtual club activities at Cornell, many of the University’s clubs set up tables around the Arts Quad this weekend to attract potential new members during ClubFest.
We all work hard at Cornell on our clubs and our interests. Now I think it’s time we actually started to show up to some of them that aren’t our own.
