Ithaca Chowder Cook-Off Celebrates its 13th Anniversary

December temperatures and rain did not stop Ithacans from taste-testing chowder at the Downtown Ithaca 13th Annual Chowder Cook-Off.

10th Annual Chowder Cook-Off to Warm Up Ithaca Commons on Saturday, Dec. 7

At the end of a chilly, snowy week, Ithaca’s Annual Chowder Cook-Off will provide Ithacans with warmth and comfort despite the cold weather. On Saturday, Dec. 7 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, over 25 local restaurants will compete to earn the title Best Chowder in the Seafood, Veggie and Meat categories.

Students were treated to a palate of free chili at Cornell’s 15th Annual Chili Competition in Willard Straight Hall’s Memorial Room on Thursday.

A Chowder Champion Will Be Chosen Saturday at the Annual Cook-Off

A competition for the Chowder Cup Champion will commence this Saturday at noon in Downtown Ithaca, featuring “traditional, exotic, and gourmet chowder from local restaurants,” according to the event’s Facebook page.
