2023-24 marked Cornell’s best season since its NCAA tournament Sweet Sixteen run in the 2009-10 season. Earl’s team eclipsed the 20-win mark this season for the first time in 14 years.
In a bout where neither team led by more than five points in the final 17 minutes of the game, Cornell put up a good fight but ultimately fell to Ohio State, 88-83.
“This is a huge opportunity for us and the Ivy League because I believe Ivy basketball is the most underrated conference in college basketball. I feel like we’re going to prove that with our play in the NIT.”
The 98-76 win capped off Cornell’s best regular season since its trip to the Sweet 16 in 2010.
comeback effort led to an 87-81 win against Penn, while a tight back-and-forth battle versus Princeton resulted in a 79-77 defeat.
Offensive rebounding and second chance points from Brown led to a heartbreaking 78-74 loss, leaving Cornell in a tie for first place with Princeton and Yale.
Coming down to the final seconds, Cornell was able to prevail, 65-62.
Men’s basketball is now tied with Yale for first place in the Ivy League.
With the loss, the Red dropped to second place in the Ivy League, with a chance at redemption against Yale at home in a couple weeks time.
