“You can feel the energy and excitement. [We’re] ready for the weekend,” Schafer said.
Cornell endured a last-second comeback, disallowed overtime goal, and seven-round shootout en route to its latest tie.
“Our guys understand where we’re at,” said head coach Mike Schafer ’86. “We can’t afford a slip-up.”
While the goals didn’t come as easily as they have in recent games, Cornell dominated the Bears, aided by junior goaltender Ian Shane’s third clean sheet of the season.
The win marks another road-trip sweep and extends Cornell’s unbeaten streak to 12 games — the longest unbeaten stretch by any Division-I team this year.
With the win, Cornell eclipses the 30-point mark in the ECAC.
Cornell is 7-0-3 in its last 10 as it heads to take on RPI and Union for the first time this season.
Men’s hockey was able to coast to a 7-2 victory over a rough-around-the-edges Clarkson team.
Cornell struggled to adjust to the penalty-riddled contest, ultimately tying the Big Green and losing in the shootout.
Men’s hockey is looking to extend its four-game win streak against Harvard and Dartmouth on the road.
