A conviction could lead to the student being deported from the U.S. and federal immigration authorities have already shown interest in his case.
The lawyer for Greenwood ’20 acknowledged his client’s connection to Psi Upsilon for the first time and said bloodstains show last semester’s altercation took place inside his client’s home. Those are two arguments in a large, new court filing.
The prosecutor said in court documents that Greenwood targeted the victim, a black junior at Cornell and punched him “in the face with a closed fist.”
