S.A. Passes Bill Urging University to Oppose Local Pipeline, Cut Ties with Wells Fargo

“This movement — it’s an awakening,” he said. “It’s time now. It’s time to do something, and sit back no longer.”
In the wake of the controversy with the Dakota Access Pipeline, Chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation, David Archambault II, will speak to the Cornell community on Thursday.
“The fact that they’re placing this pipeline just half a mile over the reservation, after [the Army Corps of Engineers] declared that it wasn’t safe for Bismarck means that it [probably] isn’t safe [for the reservation either],” said Elizabeth Chi ’18, an officer for Climate Justice Cornell.
