The University has granted a one-month extension to faculty and staff to get vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. Before the extension, on-campus staff were expected to receive their vaccination by Dec. 8.
Some staff called the freeze necessary, while others expressed disappointment and frustration.
Cornell University’s delay in closing campus as a response to the snow storm on Feb. 7 led to some Cornell Dining workers still showing up for their shifts. Some of these then ended up stuck on campus overnight.
While the effectiveness of the HR 202 training remains unknown at present, Reddy said, “It’s definitely a step in the right direction.”
The Emergency Cornellians Aiding and Responding to Employees Fund provides financial assistance to members of Cornell’s faculty and staff experiencing unexpected financial hardship.
