Over 500 Cornellians came together on Saturday to partake in Holi festival on the Engineering Quad.
Once a year, Duffield Atrium, normally the home of engineers working late into the night, becomes adorned with lights and candles as a mix of Bollywood and Indian classical music plays in the background.
That colorful scene arrived once again on Saturday evening, as students celebrated Diwali Dhamaka, an annual event which highlights Indian culture in the form of song, dance, food and art.
For twenty years, the only religious group for Hindu students at Cornell has operated out of a small storage closet.
The Student Assembly appropriations committee unanimously approved byline funding on Tuesday for the Cornell Interfaith Council, giving the group funding for the first time since its inception in 2015.
