Phenomenon Step Team will compete in the College Step Championships on April 22.
At just 12 years old, Min Shin ’22 appeared on Korean national television declaring her dream to one day play for the Korean National Women’s Ice Hockey team. Now, seven years later, the Cornell sophomore can finally don the Korean jersey.
After placing top 10 in the country this season, Cornell Mock Trial will once again prepare to face off against 46 of the best collegiate teams at nationals next month — a tournament that will pit teams from across the country in an imitated court setting, testing participants on their acting, legal and speech skills.
This year, Cornell’s top two A and B teams qualified for nationals — “the most prestigious tournament of the year,” according to James Pinchak ’18, the president of mock trial.
It all started April 7 at approximately 4:30 p.m., when the gymnastics team boarded a Swarthout bus outside Teagle hall. But it was not the standard bright red Swarthout that we are used to for long road trips; this one happened to be blue with state-of-the-art flat screen TVs for our viewing pleasure. Could it be a sign? Maybe. The girls promptly named the bus “Baby Beluga” and we all boarded.
