Puerto Rican independent journalist Bianca Graulau will discuss the most pressing issues facing Puerto Rico in a Friday talk in Klarman Hall.
“The simple act of walking outside of my household and seeing debris everywhere was surreal. The fabric of our everyday lives suddenly stopped,” Quijano told The Sun.
Participants at the rally listened to the governors’ speeches and to Cornell leaders involved in the Puerto Rican recovery effort.
To fundraise for relief efforts for Mexicans and Puerto Ricans affected by Hurricanes Irma, Maria and Katia and the 2017 Central Mexico Earthquake, several student organizations are co-hosting a Penny Wars Fundraiser Competition and a Mi Gente Remix party .
A diverse student coalition including more than 18 organizations will co-host a “Week of Action” in November to raise awareness and collect donations for the Rohingya Crisis in Myanmar.
